Kai Rewards — Terms of Use
Version 2026-08-17 · applies to people who collect stamps with Kai
DRAFT — pending legal review. This text was written for the Kai pilot and has not been reviewed by a qualified lawyer. Where the operating entity should be named it says so plainly instead of naming one. It is published because a document you can read beats a link that does not open.
1. Who this is between
Kai Rewards ("Kai", "we") is a loyalty platform. You use it to collect stamps at venues that have chosen to run their loyalty programme on it.
The operator's registered details are not published yet. The entity is being established; this document will name it, with its registered address and tax number, before Kai leaves the pilot. Until then the address that reaches a person is akaiyum@gmail.com, and it is monitored.
The venue — the café, kebab shop or bar whose card is in your app — is a separate business. It sets its own reward, decides who gets a stamp, and hands out the reward. Kai runs the software.
2. What you get, and what it is not
A stamp is a record that you visited a venue. Collect the number that venue asks for and you are entitled to the reward it advertises on the card.
Stamps are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be sold, and cannot be transferred to another person. They are a promise from the venue to you, recorded by us, and they only work at the venue that issued them.
3. Signing up
You need a working phone number or e-mail address. That is your identity here: there is no password and no username. We send a one-time code, you type it back, and you are in.
You must be at least 16. Kai asks you to confirm this once, at enrolment. If you are under 16 you may not use Kai, and if we learn that an account belongs to somebody under 16 we will delete it.
Give us a number or address that is yours. Signing in as somebody else, or enrolling a number you do not control, is not allowed.
4. What we ask you to agree to separately
Two things are asked separately, and neither is bundled into these terms:
- Messages about your account — for example a confirmation that a reward was redeemed.
- Marketing messages — offers, rewards and events from a venue you hold a card with.
Each is a separate switch, per venue, and you can turn either off at any time in the app under Consents and privacy. Turning off marketing never costs you stamps and never closes your card. The exact wording you agreed to is stored with the record, and you can see it.
5. What we ask of you
Do not try to earn stamps you were not given — that includes copying a counter code, photographing somebody else's screen, or automating requests against the app. Do not attempt to reach data that is not yours. Do not use Kai to break the law.
If we find an account being used this way we may suspend it. If stamps were obtained dishonestly, the venue may cancel them.
6. When a venue leaves Kai
A venue can stop using Kai at any time. If it does, your unredeemed stamps at that venue stay valid for 30 days from the day the venue stops, and we will tell you if you are holding a balance. After 30 days the card closes.
We chose a wind-down rather than voiding stamps the moment a business stops paying us. You did nothing wrong, and the promise on the card was made to you.
7. Rewards are the venue's promise
The reward, its value, whether it is in stock, and any fair conditions on it (one per visit, not with other offers) are the venue's to set and the venue's to honour. If a venue refuses a reward you believe you earned, tell us at the address in §1 and we will look at the record — but we cannot force a business to serve you.
Kai is not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of anything a venue sells.
8. Availability
We try to keep Kai working. We do not promise it will never be down. If the app is unavailable at a counter, the venue can add your stamp afterwards from its own dashboard — ask for it.
9. Closing your account
You can ask us to erase you from the app, under Consents and privacy. What happens next, and what we are required to keep, is described in the Privacy Notice.
You can also simply stop using Kai. Your stamps stay where they are until the venue's own expiry rules apply, if it has any.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will publish the new version here with a new version date and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app. If you keep using Kai after that, the new version applies. If you do not agree with a change, stop using Kai and ask us to erase you.
11. Law, and complaining
Polish law applies, and Polish courts have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under Polish or EU law, which cannot be signed away.
If you think we have handled your personal data wrongly, you can complain to the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa) — but we would rather you told us first.
